      • Advent of highly effective direct acting antiviral(DAA) therapies for treatment of hepatitis C virus (HCV) has been a major medical breakthrough. However, data on their real-world impact on health of people affected by HCV is lacking. Dr. Maryam Darvishian, postdoctoral fellow at UBC and BCCDC, received Micheal Smith Foundation for Health Research (MFSHR) trainig award to examine the real-world effectiveness of hepatitis C treatments in serious liver-related illnesses such as hospitalization, decompensated cirrhosis and liver cancer. Read More Here
